Mobile Caretaker

Ely, Cambridgeshire

£25,400 - £26,737 per year

40 hours per week

Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm

We have an opportunity for a Mobile Caretaker, to work as part of a double‑up team to provide cleaning services within our Sanctuary Independent Living / Supported and General Needs Housing sites. There will also be some lone‑working and you will be provided with a company van for business use only.

Responsibilities
  • General cleaning (including kitchens, shower rooms and bathrooms / vacuuming / dusting / mopping)
  • Some caretaking tasks as required as part of the service delivery
  • Carry out risk assessments to identify and report any potential maintenance issues, to ensure a safe environment is maintained and to support planned maintenance programmes
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and used in line with policies and procedures
  • Ensure all supplies and stocks are ordered, maintained and stored appropriately
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external customers, providing accurate and timely information on progress and respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
Skills and experiences
  • Able to demonstrate a competent level of numeracy and literacy
  • Experience in a similar role or completing similar tasks
  • Some experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) guidelines
  • Good communication, interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Driving on company business – drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
