Job summary

Porthaven Care Homes are seeking a Care Assistant to support residents with daily living activities and to deliver person-centred care, ensuring their physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

You will work 36 hours per week across shifts from 8am to 8pm, including alternate weekends. Full training is provided; successful applicants will undergo a DBS check and must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.

Qualifications

• Experience in care setting preferred but not required.
• DBS check will be required.
• Must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Respect each resident as an individual according to their care plan.
• Assist with daily living activities: washing, toileting, dressing, grooming.
• Promote dignity, choice and independence through person-centred care.
• Support residents during mealtimes and ensure access to food and drinks.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and families with kindness and empathy.

Daily responsibilities in this role include:

• Respect each resident as an individual, tailoring care to their personal needs and preferences according to their care plan.
• Support residents with daily living activities including; washing, toileting, dressing and grooming.
• Promote choice, dignity, and independence through person-centred care.
• Support residents during mealtimes and ensure they have access to food and refreshments whenever they wish
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families through kindness, empathy, and compassion with residents.
