Overview

The Exam Services team delivers millions of English Language assessments each year and is responsible for test security and exam centre compliance, protecting the reputation of the exams and ensuring fairness for everyone taking our assessments. We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge. We are looking for a fixed-term Senior Quality and Compliance Manager who can balance test security with practical needs of exam centres. You will manage risks and issues, communicate clearly at all levels, investigate issues, and work with other teams to resolve them and prevent recurrence. You will understand the security challenges of running exams and mitigations that can be put in place.

Role responsibilities
  • Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships to ensure robust exam security
  • Become an expert in exam regulations and security, test delivery, and our exam centre network; provide advice and guidance to other parts of the business
  • Establish clear, robust policies for managing security of assessments
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and SLAs
  • Make key operational decisions and contribute to departmental strategic decisions
  • Manage the quality and compliance of our third-party exam centre network globally, ensuring high security standards
  • Lead and manage a team, providing development and support and managing resource
Qualifications and knowledge
  • Knowledge of Cambridge English products, partners and customer base
  • Knowledge/understanding of test day delivery, test security and associated challenges
  • Experience of supporting or working with international customers
  • Broad understanding of regulatory requirements for exam boards
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Experience of exam delivery or exam operations, invigilation or other relevant insight into running examinations
  • Experience of managing people across multiple cultures and countries, and of managing externals
  • Excellent understanding of data management and reporting
  • Confident user of Excel
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • Understanding of SLAs and KPIs
  • Influencing skills for cross-functional negotiations
  • Ability to plan team resources to meet inflexible targets
Desirable
  • Knowledge of the Cambridge English partner landscape and challenges of operating globally via exam centres/third parties
  • Management qualification desirable
  • Process improvement skills desirable
