Job summary

Kingfisher Family Practice in Retford seeks a friendly receptionist to support patients and staff in a busy GP setting. You will act as a focal point of communication between patients, doctors and other staff, and assist in Care Navigation and general reception duties.

Experience in busy reception/admin is essential. Strong keyboard/computer skills (Word/Excel) are required; knowledge of TPP SystmOne is desirable but not essential. DBS check will be completed.

Qualifications

• Experience in dealing with the public in reception/administration.
• Good keyboard and computer skills (Word/Excel).
• Knowledge of TPP SystmOne is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patients are treated with courtesy and queries addressed promptly.
• Answer the telephone quickly.
• Record information accurately in patient records.
• Receive patients at reception for appointments.
• Make new and follow-up appointments.
• Record home visit requests on the system and refer as needed.
• Process repeat prescriptions with the Prescriptions Officer.
• Handle general enquiries from patients or by phone.
• Relay messages to District Nurses and attached staff.
• Franking of mail daily.
• Inform patients of charges for private services and issue receipts.
