Job summary

Bupa is seeking a Maintenance Operative to keep our care home facilities in optimal condition. You will maintain buildings and services, ensuring safety, compliance and high-quality upkeep in line with Bupa standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with building services: heating, hot/cold water, ventilation, electrical distribution and plumbing.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements and compliance standards.
• Hands-on experience with planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
• 3+ years in property maintenance or related repairs preferred.
• Full driving licence required.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and adapt to changing demands.
• Proficient in painting and decorating tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety, health, and compliance checks using digital systems and Bupa tools.
• Address tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager and close out items promptly.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety to meet Environmental Health and Fire Authority standards.
• Complete maintenance and repair tasks to high standards and within budget.
• Assist with installation and refurbishment projects with minimal resident disruption.
• Document resident preferences for personal space and ensure action is taken.
• Liaise with approved contractors, obtain quotes, and manage repairs per procedures.
• Provide regional maintenance support within a reasonable distance as needed.
