Bupa Care Homes is seeking a Maintenance Operative at St Marks Care Home in Maidenhead to keep facilities fully functional and compliant with SOPs and health and safety standards.

Role involves maintaining buildings and equipment, supporting regional maintenance needs, and ensuring high standards of first impressions in resident areas. The position runs Monday to Friday with 36 hours per week and a competitive hourly salary.

Qualifications

• Building services knowledge: heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
• Experience with planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements and compliance.
• Full driving licence.
• Qualification in building/electrical/plumbing or 3+ years hands-on maintenance experience.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Computer literacy.
• Customer service skills.
• Flexible to meet changing demands in care home.
• Experience in painting and decorating.

Responsabilités

• Carry out health, safety and compliance checks using digital systems per SOPs and compliance tools.
• Action and close tasks assigned by Maintenance Manager or home.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness meets EH, Fire Authority, Legionella and H&S standards.
• Complete maintenance/repair tasks to high standard and cost-effective.
• Document residents’ preferences regarding personal space and act on it.
• Report defects, obtain quotes, manage repairs with approved contractors.
• Report irreparable defects to Home Manager or Property/Maintenance Manager.
• Oversee refurbishment/capex programs with minimal disruption.
• Maintain and secure tools and equipment.
• Assist with induction on emergency exits, fire points, and evacuation procedures.
• May provide regional maintenance support within 1 hour travel.
