Bupa is seeking a Maintenance Operative for Aston Court Care Home in Sutton Coldfield. The role focuses on keeping facilities fully functional, maintaining buildings and equipment, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and safety regulations.

You will perform planned maintenance, assist with refurbishment projects, review resident space preferences, and coordinate with approved contractors to deliver value while upholding Bupa's standards.

Qualificações

• Good understanding of building services including heating, hot and cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution and plumbing.
• Sound understanding of building fabric and its maintenance.
• Practical experience of planned maintenance systems and record keeping.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements and compliance.
• A full driving licence.
• A building/electrical/plumbing qualification or 3+ years hands-on maintenance experience.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Computer literate.
• Good customer service skills.
• Flexible to meet changing demands within the care home.
• Practical painting and decorating experience.

Responsabilidades

• Ensuring health, safety and compliance checks using digital systems per procedures.
• Action and close tasks attributed to Maintenance Manager or home in compliance tools.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness to Environmental Health, Fire Authority and Legionella requirements.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs to a high standard, timely and cost-effective while preserving first impressions.
• Review residents' preferences in relation to personal space; document and action.
• Report defects, obtain quotes and manage repairs with approved contractors.
• Report irreparable defects to Home Manager or Property/Maintenance Manager.
• Manage refurbishment and capex programmes with minimal disruption.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and secured.
• Assist with induction of new colleagues on emergency exits, fire points and evacuation procedures.
• Occasional maintenance support to local Care Homes within 1 hour distance.
