About me

I am a friendly, happy person currently living with my family. I’m looking for a Personal Assistant (PA) who is patient, supportive and organised to have fun with.

I have autism, dyspraxia and sensory integration disorder. This means I do need help with planning activities and keeping safe, but it also means I have a great memory, especially when it comes to my main hobby, metal detecting. I hope to find someone who shares my interests in history, swimming, gaming and music.

I like to go to lots of fun places like arcades, bowling, water parks, cinema, museums and more.

About the Role
  • Accessing the community
  • Developing my skills like cooking and cleaning
  • Planning and organising
  • Attending organised metal detecting ‘digs’, occasionally these can be on the weekend
  • Being independent, e.g. breaking down tasks into simple steps so I can do it myself
  • Finding and maintaining friendships
  • Encouraging me to stay active
About You

You do not need to have formal care qualifications, but a patient, reliable, and understanding approach is essential.

A driving licence and access to a car are essential, but sometimes we can catch the bus if we plan it together.

Ideal qualities and experience include
  • An understanding or experience of autism
  • Happy to be outdoors in any weather (maybe not a thunderstorm)
  • Happy to swim, I like water slides
  • Willing to learn skills and get involved in my hobby, metal detecting
  • I would like it if you could make tasks I don’t like doing more fun
Other Details
  • Non-smoker preferred
  • I don’t have a preference for gender
  • I will pay for mileage at an agreed rate
  • A DBS check is required for this role (funded).
