Overview

Responsibilities
  • Supporting residents with personal care and emotional reassurance
  • Supervising and mentoring care staff to maintain best practice
  • Liaising with families, GPs, nurses, and palliative care professionals
  • Monitoring residents' wellbeing and promptly responding to changes
  • Upholding dignity, respect, and sensitivity at all times, including end-of-life care to make residents as comfortable as possible
  • Provide end-of-life care to residents with life-limiting conditions, ensuring comfort, dignity, and quality of care in their final days
Qualifications
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Prior experience in a senior carer or end-of-life/palliative care role
  • Compassionate, calm, and emotionally resilient nature
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred care; End-of-life care training (e.g., Gold Standards Framework, Six Steps)
  • Experience supporting families through bereavement
  • Knowledge of Advance Care Planning and DNACPR processes
