Location and Training

Location requires permanent presence at Caledonia House; initial training based at Gartnavel Hospital. Based in the west of the city, the office is near regular bus and train services.

Role Requirements

Do you fit the requirements?

We are looking for someone committed to working in a demanding but rewarding role in the NHS. The Capital Accountant will support the Senior Capital Accountant and report to the Assistant Head of Financial Services - Income, Treasury & Fixed Assets. You will provide a professional financial management service to budget holders within the capital plan and help maintain and develop a reporting system for spend.

Key capabilities include management of financial information, financial reporting, budgetary control processes and governance. Ideally you will be degree/HND qualified in accountancy or equivalent experience, with excellent IT and communication skills, and the ability to deliver to strict timelines while engaging with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Capital Accountant to lead, coordinate and develop a full accounting and reporting service on the Capital Plan
  • Manage and develop an efficient system of reporting spend to maximise investment within the asset base
  • Provide professional financial management to budget holders in the capital programme
