CAMHS Team Leader Complex Care

The post holder will work closely with young people who have complex needs and require a multi-agency approach to their care and treatment. They will be skilled in providing assessment and intervention to young people with complex needs in a range of settings, including Care Homes, bespoke placements, Prison and within Youth Justice Services.

Main duties of the job

Ensure that the emotional health of Children with complex care needs are addressed through holistic assessments and statutory health assessments, including those young people who are care experienced/LAC.

Work with the wider multi-agency team to identify services to meet the needs of patients who have difficulty in accessing service or are difficult to engage.

Ensure expert emotional health advice for care experienced and Looked after Children is available for children's social care, residential children's homes, foster carers, Youth Justice Service, Prison Service, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) staff and other health staff undertaking health assessments.

Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Qualification
  • Educated to master's degree level or equivalent experience in a related subject area
  • Safeguarding training to Level 3; Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures; Understanding of governance frameworks for safeguarding/looked after children within the organisation and partner agencies
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration
Aptitude and Abilities
  • Able to demonstrate situations where effective leadership and management skills have been used; Excellent communication skills
  • Welsh language speaking/listening skills at a Level 3 or above
Experience
  • Significant experience of working with and assessing the mental health needs of children Significant experience of working with complex children and young people
