Job summary

Tesco Cafes in Dundee is hiring a Team Member to join our café team. You’ll help cook, chat with customers and ensure every dish and drink meets our menu and food-safety standards.

You’ll also keep equipment and tables clean, handle deliveries and stock, and contribute to a fast-paced, welcoming environment. Flexible hours, development opportunities and a supportive team await. It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 8 guaranteed hours each week and you must be 18 or over to apply.

Qualifications

• A commitment to hospitality and excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
• The ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
• Serving customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
• Following food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
• Practising first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
• Accepting deliveries and handling the safe storage of food.
• Being aware of (and following) all operational policies and procedures.
• Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to our café's delicious menu.
• Making sure we maintain our standards and all food products are available.
• Knowing our caf's menu inside and out and serving food exactly as it’s intended.
• Resolving customer complaints and passing on information to the Café Manager.
• Staying up-to-date with business communications and exciting new initiatives.
• Clearing and sanitising tables so our café stays clean.
