Job summary

Bob & Berts Portrush is seeking a friendly Supervisor to lead our busy store and ensure a smooth daily operation. You will manage the team, maintain high service standards, handle inventory, and assist with customer needs to drive profitability and loyalty.

Responsibilities include opening/closing duties, staff supervision, and ensuring espresso equipment runs smoothly. Weekend and early morning shifts required; UK eligibility to work is assumed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced cafe, restaurant, or retail environment; supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven barista skills with espresso machines and specialty drinks.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities to motivate and coach a team.
• Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience with POS systems and basic cash handling math.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring security, cleanliness, and readiness for business.
• Manage staff workflow and delegate tasks to optimize peak-hour service.
• Ensure equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brewers) functions properly and report issues.
• Enforce company policies, safety, and health regulations.
• Train new hires and coach baristas on drink prep, service, and POS operations.
• Assist in creating staff rotas and ensure adequate shift coverage.
• Resolve customer queries promptly and maintain quality standards for beverages and food items.
• Maintain welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and drive customer loyalty.
