Job summary

Bob & Berts Lisburn is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of the coffee shop and driving team performance.

You will lead, train, and coach staff, manage inventory and daily financials, and deliver exceptional customer service with a passion for coffee culture. This full-time role requires a hands-on leader who can motivate a diverse team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a supervisory or management role within hospitality (coffee shop/cafe preferred).
• Strong hands-on knowledge of espresso brewing, milk steaming, and latte art.
• Proven capability to lead, motivate, and mentor a diverse team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy items (e.g., milk crates, coffee bags).
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead baristas and staff during shifts, ensuring high standards of customer service and product quality.
• Train new hires on barista skills, POS systems, and shop policies.
• Foster a positive work environment with ongoing feedback and coaching.
• Create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage, especially during peak hours.
• Manage opening/closing procedures and keep the store clean and operational.
• Monitor stock levels, place supplier orders, and conduct regular inventory counts.
• Maintain coffee equipment and ensure health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Drive sales through promotions and product knowledge.
