Job summary

Bob & Berts Cookstown is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead from the front, coaching baristas and ensuring smooth shifts. You’ll work with the Store Manager to deliver warm customer service, manage opening/closing, and maintain high standards during busy mornings and weekends.

This full-time role includes early mornings, weekends and holidays. Pay ranges from £14.50 to £15.00 per hour depending on experience, with staff discounts and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience: At least two years in a supervisory or management role, ideally in a coffee shop or café.
• Hands‑on barista skills: espresso brewing, milk steaming and latte art.
• A team‑first approach: lead, motivate and mentor a team.
• Clear communication: strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility: availability for early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Readiness for a hands‑on role: long periods of standing and moving items.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead baristas and team through each shift, keeping service friendly and quality high.
• Train new starters in coffee preparation, barista techniques, till systems and shop policies.
• Encourage the team with practical coaching and constructive feedback.
• Plan rotas to ensure proper coverage during peak times.
