Job description

Designer Exchange seeks a full Buying Admin Assistant to join the team in our flagship store in Knightsbridge, London.

The Buying Admin Assistant is a customer-facing role, serving as the first point of contact for customers seeking to sell to Designer Exchange. Additionally, the Buying Admin Assistant will be responsible for supporting the buying team with administrative tasks, liaising with pricers to provide quotes to clients, managing documentation, data entry and communication.

Please note that suitable applicants will be fully flexible 7 days a week, with weekend work required.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Focus
  • Greeting customers and being the first point of contact for our customers entering the in-store buying area
  • Managing the queue system for customers looking to sell their items
  • Manage appointment system
  • Liaising with the pricing team over chat to provide quotes to customers visiting the store
Collaboration & Communication
  • Weekly meetings with our buying and commercial managers to determine what items / brands are a focus for the week or which items we should be rejecting.
  • Working closely as a team with the in-store buying team & head of pricing.
Quality Control
  • Looking through and assessing the customer’s items they have brought in, and checking against the company’s brand list / condition requirements, and rejecting if they do not meet these standards.
  • Communicating products we would or wouldn’t sell based on data given from other departments.
Conduct & Standards
  • Reinforce adherence to company policies and procedures in all areas
  • Adhere to the Company’s ‘Code of Conduct’ and ensure this is followed throughout and respect this way of working
  • Foster a positive working environment of integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Ensure the work space is clean and tidy in line with Company Policies and Procedures, so that the store / work space meets the agreed company standards for open and closing times, appearance, housekeeping and product display
