Your responsibilities in this role include:
  • Ensure material availability for assigned projects or commodities, while minimising inventory, cost, and work-in-progress (WIP).
  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Warehousing, Operations, Projects, and Engineering to ensure accurate, complete, and timely material supply.
  • Work with production planners to determine material requirements and share forward load plans with suppliers.
  • Manage day-to-day supplier relationships, including order placement, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and escalation when necessary.
  • Execute purchase requisition to purchase order process and support implementation of commodity strategies set by Strategic Procurement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics/warehousing teams to optimise just-in-time delivery and improve vendor delivery and quality performance.
  • Proactively identify and flag material supply risks or shortages, ensuring early corrective action.
  • Track and expedite overdue items, resolving issues when stock does not arrive as expected.
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders on missing or inaccurate data and contribute to improving data accuracy to reduce material order errors.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present data clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage competing demands with tenacity.
  • Proven experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Operations within a manufacturing environment.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement processes, including P2P, ERP, and MRP systems (ERP data management essential).
  • Strong numeracy and data management skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or another technical field (or equivalent experience)
