A key financial services company in Greater London is looking for a Business Engagement Lead to bridge Finance and Technology teams. This role requires maintaining strong relationships with Finance leadership, translating business priorities into actionable technology plans, and ensuring that solutions meet expectations. Applicants should have at least 10 years of experience in business engagement or product management, alongside a solid grasp of financial statements and project delivery. The position emphasizes shaping demand and leading collaborative initiatives.
We're hiring a Business Engagement Lead to support our Finance Operations teams and help shape how we use technology across the function. This role sits right at the centre of Finance and Technology, so we're looking for someone who's comfortable moving between both worlds – someone who can understand business priorities, challenge thinking where needed, and translate ideas into actionable plans that technology teams can deliver against.
You’ll spend a lot of time with Finance leadership, building relationships, understanding what they're trying to achieve, and helping them make the most of the platforms and capabilities already in place. At the same time, you’ll be working with product and delivery teams to guide roadmaps, explain business context, and make sure the solutions being developed actually meet expectations. Although you won’t be responsible for technical delivery, you will be responsible for the outcomes – so this role suits someone who’s confident taking ownership and following things through.
A big part of the job is demand shaping: gathering requirements, documenting them properly, and making sure they align with broader enterprise architecture and long-term plans. You’ll also help sequence work, assess impact, and make trade-offs between short-term needs and future capability building. Being able to bring clarity to complex conversations will matter a lot here.
You’ll be expected to track progress, keep an eye on risks, and call out issues early. You’ll also represent Finance in planning forums and ensure the function’s priorities are properly understood. The ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively, and communicate clearly will make a big difference in this role.
