You’ll identify high-impact markets, forge strategic partnerships, and help position the company’s hardware solutions at the forefront of the global and UK quantum ecosystem. This role requires both business acumen and a strong grasp of quantum technologies to bridge the gap between technical innovation and market adoption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Market Strategy & Opportunity Development
    • Identify and evaluate commercial opportunities for the company’s quantum hardware (e.g., quantum processors, control electronics, photonic platform).
    • Conduct market research to understand trends, emerging use cases, and potential early adopters in industries such as HPC, defense, telecommunications, and academia.
    • Develop and refine go-to-market strategies tailored to deep-tech hardware solutions.
  • Partnerships & Ecosystem Building
    • Build strategic partnerships with quantum software vendors, cloud service providers, research institutions, and hardware supply chain partners.
    • Collaborate with governments and funding agencies to secure grants and joint development opportunities.
    • Represent the company at quantum technology conferences, consortiums, and investor events to strengthen industry presence.
  • Client Engagement & Sales Enablement
    • Identify and engage potential clients or collaborators for pilot programs and prototype evaluations.
    • Translate complex hardware capabilities into business value propositions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Support the preparation of proposals, white papers, and presentations for customers and investors.
  • Commercialization & Revenue Growth
    • Support the creation of pricing, licensing, and distribution models for quantum hardware.
    • Drive early customer adoption and help define scalable business models for hardware commercialization.
    • Negotiate and close agreements for research collaborations, joint ventures, and sales.
  • Internal Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering, R&D, and product teams to align business objectives with technical milestones.
    • Provide market insights to guide product development and roadmap priorities.
    • Contribute to investor relations through data-driven business growth reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration (a technical background in quantum or semiconductor fields is highly valued).
  • 3–7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or technical sales—preferably in deep tech, semiconductors, or advanced computing hardware.
  • Understanding of quantum computing principles, hardware architectures, and supply chains.
  • Proven track record in developing partnerships and securing deals in early-stage or high-tech environments.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technology into clear business value.
Key Skills:
  • Strategic business planning in emerging technologies
  • Technical literacy in quantum hardware and adjacent technologies (cryogenics, electronics, photonics, etc.)
  • Partnership and ecosystem development
  • Fundraising and grant proposal support
  • Negotiation and deal structuring
  • Market analysis and opportunity assessment
