Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Build Technician for a global luxury automotive manufacturer based in Woking. The role requires extensive experience in high-performance vehicle builds, welding, and knowledge of electrical systems. The candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining vehicles and simulation rigs to the highest standards, collaborating with design and engineering teams. The position is inside IR35 with potential for travel, including UK and Europe.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in motorsport or high-performance vehicle builds is required.
  • Welding, machining, and fabrication skills are desirable.
  • Knowledge of automotive electrical and electronic systems is advantageous.

Build Technician

Location: Woking
Shift: Monday to Friday - 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Contract
Occasional Travel Required.

Build Technician required to join a Global OEM of luxury performance vehicles based in Woking on an ongoing contract basis.

Our client is an automotive luxury brand with a global reputation for producing high-performance vehicles. Working with some of the most iconic designs, they push the boundaries of automotive engineering and innovation.

Role of the Build Technician
  • Build concept, mule, prototype, and production-level vehicles and simulation rigs to the highest standards using specified processes.
  • Maintain and update vehicles and rigs to support ongoing development programmes.
  • Prepare and operate vehicles for test and development activities at multiple locations, including off-site UK, European, and occasional worldwide testing.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to establish and achieve specifications and targets.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instrumentation schedules to ensure accurate builds, modifications, and updates.
  • Ensure the workshop and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
  • Subject to meeting internal driving standards, operate high-value, high-performance vehicles in workshop, road, and testing environments.
Experience of the Build Technician
  • Extensive experience in motorsport, prototype, low-volume, or high-performance vehicle builds, including manufacturing, assembly, and operation.
  • Welding, machining, and fabrication skills are desirable.
  • Knowledge of modern automotive electrical and electronic systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults, would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic platforms such as MONaco, CANape, and INCA is desirable.
  • Full clean driving licence and valid passport.
  • IT proficiency in various software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite and Virtual Car.

Please note, this role is deemed inside of IR35. The Umbrella Pay Rate offered is inclusive of the Assignment pay rate, holiday pay and Apex Recruitments contribution towards Employer Costs.
