Job summary

AECOM in Manchester is offering a Bridge Structures Engineering Apprenticeship with a 2027 start. You will join the Bridges team and gain hands-on experience from concept to implementation on local and national projects.

The role focuses on CAD drawing, structural design support, and data analysis while you work toward EngTech and later IEng status with ICE or IStructE. A hybrid work model and in-person onboarding are part of the program.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (including Maths & English).
• Three A-Levels (Maths & a physical science) or equivalent such as BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering (required for Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship).
• Some experience or shadowing in an engineering environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce CAD drawings.
• Support structural design and desktop publishing tasks.
• Assist with project administration and record-keeping.
• Review and analyse data.
• Contribute to problem-solving and design solutions.
• Participate in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.
• Work toward EngTech status, and later IEng status with ICE or IStructE.
