Job summary

AECOM in Birmingham is seeking enthusiastic Civil & Structural Engineering Apprentices to join the Bridges team. You will gain hands-on experience from concept to implementation on diverse projects for local and national clients.

As an apprentice, you’ll develop CAD skills, engage in structural design tasks, and support project administration while aiming for EngTech and later IEng with ICE/IStructE.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Mathematics and English.
• Three A-Levels (or equivalent) including Maths and a physical science - required for Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
• Some experience or shadowing in an engineering environment (preferred).
• Interest in software-based engineering and design (CAD, 3D modelling).

Responsibilities

• Produce CAD drawings.
• Support structural design and desktop publishing tasks.
• Assist with project administration and record-keeping.
• Review and analyse data.
• Contribute to problem-solving and design solutions.
• Participate in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.
• Work toward EngTech status, and later IEng status with ICE or IStructE.
