Job summary

AECOM is offering a Civil & Structural Engineering Apprenticeship in Newcastle, with a hybrid work model. The role covers concept design to implementation on bridges projects, supporting design teams across local, national, and international clients.

Ideal candidates have GCSEs including Maths/English and three A-Levels or equivalent, plus interest in CAD and 3D modelling. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience and career progression toward EngTech/IEng with ICE/IStructE.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English.
Three A-Levels (or equivalent) including Maths and a physical science.
Some experience or shadowing in an engineering environment (preferred).
Interest in software-based engineering and design (CAD, 3D modelling).

Responsibilities

Produce CAD drawings.
Support structural design and desktop publishing tasks.
Assist with project administration and record-keeping.
Review and analyse data.
Contribute to problem-solving and design solutions.
Participate in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.
Work toward achieving EngTech status, and later IEng status with ICE or IStructE.
