Job summary

AECOM is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Civil & Structural Engineering Apprentices to join our Bridges team in Glasgow. As an apprentice, you’ll gain hands-on experience on projects from concept to implementation for local, national and international clients.

You’ll work in a team that values technical excellence, innovation and collaboration, with hybrid work options and a clear path toward EngTech/IEng status with ICE or IStructE.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English.
• Three A-Levels (or equivalent such as BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering) including Maths and a physical science – required for Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship.
• Some experience or shadowing in an engineering environment (preferred).
• Interest in software-based engineering and design (e.g., CAD, 3D modelling).
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Produce CAD drawings.
• Support structural design and desktop publishing tasks.
• Assist with project administration and record-keeping.
• Review and analyse data.
• Contribute to problem-solving and design solutions.
• Participate in site visits to gather information or observe conditions.
