Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is recruiting for a Branch Supervisor (6 month fixed term) at Gainsborough. You will help run the small branch, supervise staff, and engage with customers to maximise sales while handling warehouse duties.

The role is full-time at 40 hours per week, with Saturday rota and potential permanency. Benefits include annual leave, pension, bonuses, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Previous industry or merchant experience is preferable.
• Face-to-face customer service/sales experience is required.
• Excellent communication and confidence interacting with customers.
• Willingness to lead/step up in Branch Manager's absence.

As a Branch Supervisor based in Gainsborough you’ll be responsible for:

• Assisting the Branch Manager with the day to day running and operations within this small branch.
• Supervise and support branch staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Serving customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge.
• Proactively engaging with both new and existing customers to maximise sales opportunities and build strong customer relationships
• Building rapport with customers & suppliers, responding to any queries and processing sales.
• General warehouse duties including, goods in & out, picking and packing customer orders.

This is a full-time, temporary role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between 07.30am - 5.00pm and Saturday on a rota basis 08.00am - 12.00pm. There is a potential for the role to be made permanent.

• Prior experience in a Face to Face customer service/sales environment
• Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with customers
• To be a team player who is happy to take on a diverse role to carry out all jobs in the branch to ensure it runs smoothly
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Managers absence
• Keenness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic
