Penguin Random House UK seeks an experienced File Storage Specialist to lead the migration of on-premises file storage to cloud-based solutions, including a Box migration, on an 18-month fixed-term contract in London.

You’ll work across Technology and with application owners to keep services stable and secure, documenting processes and guiding data owners. The role requires UK work eligibility and use of PowerShell for automation, with a hybrid London-based schedule.

Qualifikationen

• Strong hands-on experience with NAS and Windows file services
• Experience of troubleshooting storage performance and access issues
• Experience delivering storage migrations end-to-end
• Experience validating data, metadata and permissions during migration
• Understanding of file/object storage and cloud/hybrid connectivity
• Ability to script with PowerShell for inventory and validation
• Experience with change/incident/problem management processes
• Strong documentation and runbook creation skills
• Able to communicate technical info to both technical and non-technical colleagues

Aufgaben

• Build detailed understanding of existing storage estate including data, permissions, ownership and dependencies
• Maintain secure, stable file services during transition
• Lead storage migrations from discovery to cutover
• Manage permissions and access across AD, groups and service accounts
• Plan safe transition and decommissioning of legacy storage
• Maintain technical documentation and runbooks
