Job summary

Penguin Random House UK is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Transformation team in London on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will lead analysis for the File Management project, supporting discovery, design and migration to Microsoft 365 and Box.

You will work with Transformation, Strategic Projects and Technology to map current file structures, define future workflows and produce clear migration plans.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Business Analyst or similar analytical/change role.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills with large datasets.
• Experience leading business process discovery across multiple teams.
• Strong ability to plan and facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews.
• Experience mapping current and future processes and ways of working.
• Ability to combine quantitative data with qualitative insight for needs assessment.
• Experience working on technology-enabled change and collaborating with delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyse file storage data to understand volumes, usage, age and duplication, turning findings into insights.
• Lead discovery with teams through workshops and interviews to map current structures and processes.
• Identify opportunities to simplify file management and improve information organisation, access and sharing.
• Investigate processes, file types and dependencies that affect migration, coordinating with Technology.
• Define practical future file structures, ownership, naming conventions and sharing rules.
• Translate findings into recommendations on retention, archiving, deletion or migration, and assess readiness across areas.
• Produce evidence-based analysis to support prioritisation and phased rollout across the organisation.
• Collaborate with Transformation, Strategic Projects and Technology to support implementation.
