A leading healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is seeking enthusiastic individuals for a full-time position in Blood Science. The role includes participation in a shift system across various sessions with responsibilities involving lone working and issuing blood products. 37.5 hrs full time post working 24/7 shift system. 12 months fixed term.
The Pathology departments at University Hospitals North Tees and Hartlepool (NTH) and South Tees Hospitals (STH) are working collaboratively to develop a joint service called Tees Valley Pathology (TVP) with services being delivered at all hospital sites.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with appropriate experience, knowledge and skills to join our scientific team and participate in the delivery of services provided by the Blood Science directorate, which has laboratories at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, and Friarage Hospital, Northallerton, involving Biochemistry, General Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion on both sites.
You will be expected to participate on a full shift system to cover weekday, weekend, evening and night sessions.

After you complete these three and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer further in‑house courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach to working hours, participating and changing their shift patterns to coincide with the departmental needs as required on both sites.
Acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills for lone working in Blood Science and the responsibility of issuing blood products at the Friarage site will be a pre‑requisite to advancement from Band 3 to an Associate Practitioner Band 4 position.
