Plug Me In is on a mission to power the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future. As part of the Calisen Group, we’re growing fast and looking for a talented Bid Manager to lead our commercial and public sector bid activity.

About the Role

As a Bid Manager, you’ll take ownership of the bid process across both commercial and public sector opportunities. You’ll be responsible for identifying and managing tender submissions, developing high-quality bid responses, and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. This is a key role in helping us secure new projects and funding, while building strong internal and external relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full bid lifecycle from opportunity tracking to submission and handover
  • Write and coordinate high-quality, tailored bid responses
  • Maintain and develop a library of standard responses to streamline future submissions
  • Collaborate with internal teams including sales, technical, legal, and finance
  • Monitor trends in bid requirements, including social value and accreditations
  • Analyse bid outcomes to drive continuous improvement
  • Represent Plug Me In at industry events and networking opportunities
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in bid management or bid writing for public and commercial sectors
  • Strong understanding of tender portals (e.g. Tenders Direct, Find a Tender, In-Tend, Atamis)
  • Knowledge of social value and how to demonstrate it in bids
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of renewable energy products such as solar PV and battery storage (desirable)
  • Familiarity with public sector funding mechanisms (e.g. PSDF)
