Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join the Primary Behaviour Service at The Keppel Centre, Bishopstoke. The role focuses on delivering targeted interventions to help pupils overcome barriers and to promote positive behaviour and inclusion.

The position is 37 hours per week, term-time only, permanent, with travel to partner schools as needed. A driving licence and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary schools with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of child development and factors affecting education engagement.
• Desirable KS2 to KS3 transition knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Calm, professional and solution-focused in challenging situations.
• Genuine commitment to inclusion and belief that every child can succeed with the right support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group interventions in schools and at the centre.
• Provide practical, pastoral and behavioural support using de-escalation techniques.
• Work with schools, families and partner agencies to develop and implement effective support plans.
• Model and share good practice; contribute to behaviour support consultation, training and workforce development.
• Maintain accurate records, contribute to reviews and evaluate impact of support.
• Support the delivery of training and strategic work.
