Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to help pupils with SEMH needs within the Primary Behaviour Service. You will deliver interventions in schools and at the centre, helping students overcome barriers to learning and engagement.

The role involves collaboration with schools, families and professionals, and may contribute to expanding KS3 support and the Experts at Hand initiative to build confidence and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary schools with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge of child development and how it affects education access.
• Strong commitment to inclusion and supporting every child.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
• Be part of a collaborative, valued team and contribute to service expansion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group interventions to support learning and participation.
• Provide practical, pastoral and behavioural support using de-escalation techniques.
• Develop and implement effective support plans with schools and families.
• Model good practice, contribute to behaviour support training and workforce development.
• Maintain accurate records and support reviews to evaluate impact.
• Support delivery of training and strategic projects.
