Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker (KS3 and Primary Transition) to support children and young people with SEMH needs in the Primary Behaviour Service, delivering targeted interventions and helping pupils engage with learning.

The role works with schools, families and other professionals to develop and implement support plans, using de-escalation techniques and contributing to workforce development as the service expands into KS3 settings.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary schools with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group interventions in schools and at the centre to help pupils engage and participate.
• Provide practical, pastoral and behavioural support using de-escalation techniques.
• Develop and implement effective support plans with schools, families and partner agencies.
• Model and share good practice, contributing to training and workforce development.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews to evaluate impact.
