Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to support pupils with SEMH needs. Based at Robin’s Oak, Waterlooville, you will work 37 hours per week in a permanent, term-time-only role.

You’ll deliver targeted interventions, collaborate with schools and families, and contribute to workforce development within the Primary Behaviour Service. The role requires empathy, resilience and strong communication to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and engagement, ensuring

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary schools with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with pupils, families and professionals.
• Knowledge of child development and inclusive education practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group interventions that support learning and participation.
• Provide practical, pastoral and behavioural support using de-escalation strategies.
• Collaborate with schools, families and partner agencies to implement effective support plans.
• Model and share good practice, contributing to behaviour support training and workforce development.
• Maintain accurate records, support reviews and evaluate impact of interventions.
