Bedding Plant Nursery Worker

We are a wholesale grower of vegetable and ornamental plants located near York.

Responsibilities

• Picking orders and dispatch.
• General cleanliness of the nursery and greenhouses.
• Operating light industrial machinery (training will be provided).
• Physical movement of plant trolleys and loading bays with flowers.
• General plant care (training will be provided).

The job role is for a full‑time, seasonal position during our peak operating months from February to July. There may be an opportunity for a renewed full‑time permanent position after a 6‑month placement for the right candidates.

Successful candidates must be enthusiastic, hard‑working, tidy and enjoy working in a team. Experience in a similar nursery environment is not required, but a passion for plants and growing will help your application.

Candidates will need to provide their own transport to and from work. We may be able to provide accommodation depending on availability. If you are open to relocation, please make this clear in your cover letter.

You must have a legal right to work in the UK.

Salary: £12.25 per hour.

Working Times: Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm with overtime options and weekend work available. 1 hour unpaid breaks per day – 1 x 15min morning break. 30mins lunch time break. 1 x 15 min afternoon break.

Working times may be adjusted in winter to adapt to daylight working hours and seasonal demand.
