We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind‑set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

About the role

Join our Business Development & Marketing (BDM) team to drive the Energy, Utilities & Infrastructure sector strategy. You’ll work closely with Sector Leaders to grow profitable revenue, facilitate cross‑selling, and engage clients proactively, informed by sector trends and opportunities.

Your main responsibilities will include
  • You will experience a truly global working environment and be involved in strategic projects that drive innovation and shape the future of our business.
  • You will belong to a firm that takes its corporate social, environmental and governance responsibilities seriously.
  • We remain focused on talent and attracting the best people, which results in a diverse workforce.
  • Once here, you will be included, valued and respected so that you can perform at your best.
  • We advocate a speak‑up culture and maintain an open‑door policy, so that people feel empowered to share their views and know that they will be heard.
  • We invest in custom‑fit career paths aligned to each person’s talents and aspirations.
  • We provide agile working solutions to meet the changing needs of our people and our business.
  • We are committed to people‑first relationships based on mutual trust, respect and appreciation.
  • We support health and wellbeing, including providing a safe space to talk about emotions and mental health and access to expert advice where needed.
  • We invest in leaders of the future who demonstrate emotional intelligence and a passion for discovering, coaching and developing the talents of others.
Ideally you will have
  • Extensive global BD experience in legal or professional services.
  • Strong knowledge of Energy & Utilities sector trends and clients.
  • BD experience with Private Capital and Institutional Investors (beneficial).
  • Proven ability to drive BD and cross‑selling using a sector approach.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing sector‑specific BD strategies and CRM.
  • Proficient in data analysis for strategic decision‑making.
  • Understanding of law firm matrix structures (desirable).
  • Comfortable managing complexity and coordinating multiple initiatives.
  • Successful collaboration with senior partners and relationship managers.
  • Expertise in cross‑selling within professional services.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in a similar role.

This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.
