Bar Assistant Manager - Chef/Cook

Location: Shipley

Salary: GBP31,500 per year

Hours: Full-time, two-week rota including alternate weekends; shifts between 7:30am - 8:00pm, later when covering functions

Contract: Permanent

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Chef/Cook with at least 1 year of experience
  • Experience in preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen
  • Ability to manage functions and catering for up to 100 guests
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Reliable and able to commute to Shipley or relocate prior to starting

Desirable:

  • Bar experience (training can be provided if not experienced)
  • Full driving licence

The Role

We are a small, multi-facility restaurant and bar in Shipley, spanning three floors and including a dining area, gym, steam room, swimming pool, and snooker room.

We are looking for a Bar Assistant Manager who is primarily a chef/cook but can also assist in the bar area and greet guests. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and cooking set meals according to the menu
  • Catering for functions, parties, celebrations, and funerals (80-100 guests)
  • Assisting with bar duties and welcoming guests on arrival
  • Maintaining high standards of service across all areas

You will work on a two-week rota, including alternate weekends, with flexibility to cover functions as required.
