Job description

We are currently recruiting to our Trust's Temporary Staffing Team - Bank on Us and we are seeking Registered Nurses with a valid NMC registration that have a minimum of twelve months post graduate experience within an acute hospital setting in the UK. You must work well in a team and be reliable and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills, as well as adaptable and flexible to changing situations, working within Trust policies and the NMC Code of Conduct.

The Trust covers different hospital sites the main site being St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey and also includes Ashford Hospital and Woking Community Hospital.

We have bank shifts in a variety of areas such:

• Urgent and Emergency care includes the Emergency Department
• Inpatient medical, surgical, orthopaedic and care of the elderly wards
• Intensive Care Unit with a combination of Intensive care beds and HDU beds
• Women's Health and Paediatrics

Bank on Us Hourly Pay Rates - depending on experience rate includes high-cost area payment and WTD payment.

Once you have completed the Bank Pre-Registration process you will be booked to attend the Trust's Induction Programme, this is approx. 5/6 days. This commitment is required to support and enhance your current skills and knowledge.

Working effectively and efficiently and in collaboration with the multi‑professional teams to deliver high quality and individualised patient care.

Be responsible to the nurse in charge or where appropriate act as shift leader, delivering direct patient care as assigned and supporting junior colleagues.

The role is varied, equally challenging and rewarding, where you will have the opportunity to really make a difference to the experience of our patients. Whether this is supporting patients in their rehabilitation and recovery following an operation, a period of acute illness or providing holistic and compassionate care for patients at the end of life. Working as a Bank Registered Nurse in a variety of wards / departments within the hospital setting.

Carry out assigned tasks involved with direct patient care whilst maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients. This will be whilst demonstrating excellent care, compassion and communication, working alongside the multidisciplinary team, incorporating:

• Delivering high quality direct patient care.
• Following patient admission/transfer/discharge processes.
• Medication administration.
• Care planning and evaluation.
• Wound management.
• Accountable to nurse in charge of each shift and supporting junior colleagues.
