Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stocken, a Category C Prison located in Oakham. The Pharmacy is not a dispensary; there are six dispenser hatches within medication/administration points. The team includes a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, and a Dispenser.

Bank Hours

• Weekdays - 7.30am - 5.30pm
• Weekends - 8.30am - 5.30pm

Bank Hourly Rate

• Weekdays £21.76
• Weekends £23.61
• Bank Holidays £28.33

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient‑centred care, seeking out, listening to, and acting on patient feedback to personalise care.
• Ensure safe and secure medicines management, maintaining patient medical records to agreed standard and following SOPs.
• Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, from timely administration of medicines to analysing cost‑effective prescribing.
• Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
• Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Experience

• Ideal: experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
