The NWL Health and Social Care Skills Academy is looking for an experienced Midwifery Clinical Practice Educator to join our team.

You'll lead and deliver the pastoral and education curriculum for maternity services across North West London, supporting internationally educated midwives and growing local midwifery talent.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the NWL Health and Social Skills Academy Lead, the Midwifery Clinical Practice Educator will be required to deliver the pastoral and education curriculum for Maternity services across the sector as part of the wider expand and diversify agenda for NWL ICB.

This role is instrumental in supporting new recruitment methods across North West London to boost the volume of people from our local areas entering non-registered midwifery roles and our Internationally Educated Midwives (IEMS) entering employment in partner NHS Trusts

The post holder will use their clinical expertise to support the strategic approach to onboarding, welcoming and supporting the retention of international midwives by providing teaching, clinical support and pastoral care throughout their pre-registration and preceptorship period and contribute to service developments in maternity education, workforce planning across the NWL footprint

Education and Qualifications

Essential:

  • Registered Midwife
  • Evidence of continued personal development
  • Teaching qualification e.g PG Cert (or demonstrable experience)
  • Masters qualification or relevant master's level experience in relevant specialist area.

Desirable:

  • Professional Midwifery Advocate
Experience and knowledge

Essential:

  • Evidence of working in or closely with Education Teams
  • Evidence of people management experience.
  • Experience of managing Experience of implementing innovative solutions in education, recruitment and retention
  • Evidence of self-development with ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of current issues within the nursing and midwifery workforce
  • Experience of teaching, research and clinical audit
  • Experience of facilitating and implementing teaching programmes to meet training Needs
