Banding: 8a

Location: Swansea

Start: 3 February 2025

Duration: Until 10 August 2025

Rate: £34–£37

Working hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 18:00

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in Swansea. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing essential pharmaceutical care to patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for ward and dispensary cover, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care. Hospital experience is essential, and HEPMA experience would be beneficial, although training can be provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the dispensing of medications
  • Conducting medication reviews
  • Providing clinical advice to healthcare professionals and patients
  • Participating in ward rounds
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines
  • Overseeing the safe storage and handling of pharmaceuticals
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Providing training and support to junior staff

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Pharmacist with the GPHC
  • Recent acute hospital experience, especially in a surgical setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge and pharmacotherapy understanding
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in medication reviews and clinical advice
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and pharmacy best practices
  • HEPMA experience (beneficial but not essential, training can be provided)
