Person Specification
Qualifications
- Good standard of general education including GCSE English and maths grade C or above
- Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy
- Registered with HCPC
- Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to clinical speciality
- Evidence of leadership training
- Fieldwork Educator's certificate or attendance at Clinical Educators Course
Experience
- Substantial and relevant post-registration experience, providing a broad range of experience in core areas within a healthcare setting.
- Significant Experience in MSK within various settings of the MSK field e.g. Acute / Specialist clinics for e.g. Pain, Rheumatology
- Highly developed professional clinical skills.
- Experience of effective staff management and leadership
- Interdisciplinary working.
- Implementation of change management principles.
- Experience of dealing with people who display inappropriate behaviours e.g. verbal or physical aggression, in sensitive and potentially hostile situations
- Demonstration of specialist knowledge across a range of Physiotherapy procedures, practices and treatments, routine and non-routine, requiring expertise within the particular field
- Appropriate Theoretical and practical experience
- An ability to cope with a range of complex options, find solutions, analyse, compare and decide on appropriate course of action
- Understanding of current legislation and application to Physiotherapy
- Attendance at postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical work.
- Attendance at mandatory training
- Evidence of in-service training
- Experience of conducting recruitment and selection procedures
- Experience of producing reports / data analysis
- Experience of conducting appraisals.
- Team Leadership experience
- Pilates training/Qualification
- Evidence of audit / R&D activity on a regular basis

- An ability to propose changes in policies/procedures which may improve the service
- Good working knowledge of national policies and procedures (relevant to the client group) and their implications for Physiotherapy
- Understanding of the principles of clinical governance /audit
- Understanding of the roles of other professionals (relevant to the client group)
- Understanding of the impact of local cultural and demographic factors influencing service
- Good knowledge of IT
