Job description

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust [BCHC] are now seeking to recruit an experienced Capital Projects Manager [Construction]. BCHC operates across a wide portfolio of Healthcare Estates in the Midlands area and specialises in the management and development of healthcare property in the Community Healthcare sector.

BCHC are now seeking to recruit a Project Manager to join the team in Birmingham, in taking an important role in the project management of Capital and other projects. As part of this varied and challenging role, you will be professionally responsible for the complete Project Management from inception to completion of minor Capital & other Projects for Birmingham Community NHS Foundation Trust and other clients as required.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in space utilisation projects to reduce the Estate and maximise utilisation.
  • Involved in mobilisations for new contracts and assisting with Capital Programmes.
  • Perform feasibility studies, design, programming, financial management of schemes, property inspections and supervision and coordination of external consultants, contractors & site inspectors.
  • Communicate with and provide expert professional advice to key stakeholders of the Trust to determine/advice on scheme briefs, budgets, timescales and logistics.
  • Ensure that projects are procured to appropriate professional, technical & quality standards and that all schemes maintain a patient focus.
Qualifications
  • Excellent project management skills gained managing capital projects and minor capital works (NHS experience is advantageous but not essential; experience in other public or commercial private sector environments is considered).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or MICAD and good working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel, Access and Project.
  • Ideally holds a project management certification.
  • Desirable to be professionally qualified within a related discipline such as RICS, CIOB or to demonstrate equivalent Construction or Engineering experience.
