We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 6/7 Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at the Royal Sussex County Hospital (RSCH) in Brighton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide specialized speech and language therapy services to adult inpatients, particularly those with acute stroke conditions. If you have a strong background in managing dysphagia and are looking for a temporary position to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply. This position is available immediately, with both full-time and part-time options considered for a duration of three months.
Responsibilities:
As a Band 6/7 Locum Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist you will be responsible for providing specialist speech and language therapy services to adult inpatients, focusing on those with acute stroke conditions. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to address communication and swallowing disorders. You must be competent in managing dysphagia, and if applying for a Band 7 position, you will also be expected to have competencies in tracheostomy and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate patient records, participate in clinical audits, and contribute to the development of speech and language therapy services.
