Job Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Community Support Worker to join a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team within the Teesside locality, working and supporting people with Learning Disabilities to achieve high quality of life and optimum health.

Responsibilities
  • Support people with Learning Disabilities to achieve high quality of life and optimum health.
  • Communicate effectively and adapt communication styles when engaging with the people they are supporting, their families, carers and supported.
  • Travel independently to various locations within the Trust on a regular basis.
  • Work in a supportive environment committed to personal and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Literacy and numeracy level 2 or equivalent.
  • Complete the Trust Health Care Assistant competencies within the first year.
  • Internal staff must have completed the full framework before they can apply.
  • Good clinical knowledge base and experience of working with people with a learning disability, preferably in community settings.
  • Awareness of the Mental Health and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available for this role).
Working Hours & Post Details

The community team provides support 7 days per week from 8am till 8pm, with core hours of 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday. There are 2 posts available (1 permanent and 1 fixed term 12 months).
