Job summary

Ivor Searle Limited in Cambridge is seeking an Automotive Powertrain Advisor who comes from an automotive parts or service background to join our busy sales team. The role emphasizes handling customer enquiries, quoting prices and availability, and processing orders efficiently.

You will quote engines, turbochargers, gearboxes and cylinder heads, and use Sage 200 or Microsoft Office. Training is provided; hours are 8:30–17:30, Monday–Friday, with 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive parts or service environment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to identify solutions to problems.
• Experience with Microsoft Office or Sage 200 helpful; in-house training provided.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
• Accurately quote price and availability of engines, turbochargers, gearboxes and cylinder heads.
• Carry out sales order processing using Sage 200 system.
• Raise final customer invoices.
• Liaise with the logistics department to arrange delivery of sold items.
• Carry out various administration duties.

Job description

A vacancy has arisen within our busy sales team for a Automotive Powertrain Advisor who ideally comes from an automotive parts/service environment.

Key responsibilities will be to:

• answer phone and email enquiries promptly and professionally;
• accurately quote price and availability of engines, turbochargers, gearboxes and cylinder heads;
• carry out sales order processing using our Sage 200 system;
• raise final customer invoices;
• liaise with the logistics department to arrange delivery of sold items;
• carry out various administration duties.

Ideally the successful candidate will:

• have automotive parts experience;
• have excellent communication and customer service skills;
• possess a positive attitude and display the ability to identify solutions to problems;
• have experience of using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) or Sage 200, although not essential as full in-house training will be provided.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 17:30 with 20 minutes morning break and 30 minutes lunch break.
