Job summary

Halfords Autocentres offers an apprentice Vehicle Technician programme where you will work on a variety of makes and models, from servicing to diagnostics, in a busy Autocentre environment.

You will learn workplace safety, engine and electrical systems, and diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment under the guidance of experienced mentors. The 40-hour week includes day release at college.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above (Or Equivalents)
• Strong desire to build a career as an Auto Vehicle Technician
• Interest in cars and solving problems
• Able to use hands and have a strong and fit attitude to work due to the manual work involved
• Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance
• Enjoys working and fixing problems with cars
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge and skills to diagnose and repair vehicles to high standards
• Work on a range of makes and models across servicing, inspections and repairs
• Learn diagnostic methods and equipment in the workshop
