Job summary

Remedy Education is recruiting an ASD Teaching Assistant in Lewisham, South East London. You will support pupils with autism on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to access learning and develop communication and independence skills.

The ideal candidate will be calm, patient and reliable, with an understanding of sensory needs and structured routines. You will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to make a genuine difference.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD in school or care settings.
• Calm, patient and reliable approach to behaviour and routines.
• Understanding of sensory needs and structured routines.
• Confident supporting emotional and behavioural needs.
• Willingness to provide personal care if required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help pupils access learning, manage sensory needs and develop communication skills.
• Use visuals, PECS or other strategies to aid understanding.
• Support emotional regulation and behaviour and maintain clear routines.
• Collaborate with teachers and SEN team to support pupil progress.
