Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a calm, patient ASD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Greenwich. You will support pupils with autism across structured activities, providing 1:1 and small-group interventions as part of a dedicated team.

Role focuses on communication, social interaction and emotional regulation, using visual schedules and routines. Start ASAP; full-time, long-term contract in London.

Qualifications

• calm, proactive and resilient
• passion for working with children with additional needs
• experience with ASD, communication needs, sensory needs, challenging behaviour, Makaton, PECS or other communication strategies

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with ASD across classroom activities and structured learning
• Providing 1:1 and small-group interventions
• Supporting pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
• Using visual timetables, structured routines and individualised learning strategies
• Helping pupils manage sensory needs and transitions throughout the day
• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other SEN professionals
• Providing personal care where required
