TeacherActive is recruiting enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to join a specialist school in Ealing, West London. The role focuses on supporting pupils with autism and complex needs, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and helping pupils develop communication and independence.

The successful candidate will be calm, patient and committed to a long-term, full-time position, with a daily rate of £90–£120 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Experience with ASC, SLD, PMLD or complex needs.
  • Calm, patient and confident supporting pupils with different communication needs.
  • Willing to provide personal care if required.
  • Strong behaviour-management and communication skills.
  • Reliable and committed to a long-term, full-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and additional learning needs.
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Supporting pupils with communication and interaction difficulties.
  • Helping pupils with social, emotional and sensory needs.
  • Using visual communication and individualised strategies where appropriate.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and other SEND professionals.
  • Assisting with personal care and physical needs where required.
  • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
