Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a patient and understanding Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism in a specialist setting. You will help create a structured, predictable environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to engage in learning.

You’ll work 1:1 and in small groups, support routines and transitions, use visual strategies, and collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

Qualifications

• Experience with autism or SEND is required or strongly preferred.
• A calm, consistent approach, even on tricky days, is essential.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups.
• Helping with routines, transitions, and sensory needs.
• Using clear communication and visual strategies.
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists.
